Ever since i first found out about Ralph steadman ive wanted to go into illustration, for a while i worked mainly with black ink on plain white paper, putting a lot of anger and hate into my drawings, but recently ive found that im inspired by more than just Steadman. My list of inspiration is quite long, but a few that immediatley spring to mind are: Tim burton, Ralph Steadman, Hunter S Thompson, Gerald Scarfe, Sabrina Ward Harrison and Ronald Searle. I would greatly love in later life to be a freelance illustrator, id like the opportunity to get into illustrating for the music industry.
My work takes inspiration from these artist but dont copy there style, well, maybe they do slightly but i try to steer away from making them look to "steadmany" as i call it.
My Inspiration doesnt come from just art, it also comes from music, Being a guitarist music plays a rather large part in my life, listening to different music puts me in different moods, makes me work differently, its a great tool to get you in the state of mind that you need to be in.
